TENDER (then punch me) is an unravelling, diffuse story of the body’s experience in actual and virtual worlds, in its beautiful, delirious, ecstatic, and gory nature. The record is the conclusion of a multi-year collaborative exploration between ERLA and BARTONDISPLAY in which they explored blending contemporary poetry and voice with resampling and the world of computer music. Over a handful of years, the two composers exchanged texts, snippits and tracks which initially emerged as different audio installations. Only meeting occassionally in real life in studios in Reykjavík, Vienna and Groningen.

BART’s debut EP NONTENT offers a kaleidoscopic palette of genre-defying tracks that persistently cross the gap between pop and avant-garde. The dynamic compositions featured on the EP comprise a loud, textured and noisy fever-dream where anxiety and disorientation are rampant among digital glitches and rumbling underbelly basses.

Isoliminal is Agalmas first compilation project. It consists of individual tracks produced in isolation over the past two months by the various artists involved with the Icelandic electronic and experimental scenes that are featured in the Agalma catalogue. Conceived as a collaborative effort to hold out against the lingering depression many have faced caused by this years absurd run of events, it features a wide spectrum of musical offerings ranging from freely improvised experimental one-takes and heart-wrenching ambient soundscapes to acid-marinated synth pop and near stadium-worthy electronic power ballads.

In a sonic exploratory phase, BART produces a set of singles under the alias Nadya KID. Ranging from Hei Hei’s chaotic vocal infused, gridlocked beats to Camerabox’s ethereal harmonics, to Bird Under Bridge’s slowmotion hardcore experience. This set of singles defines a transition from BART’s instrumental roots towards a more expanded, textural approach to his music.
